Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn (born in America) is an American actress. She is most famous for her role as Skyler in the AMC's Breaking Bad drama, and was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award Outstanding Supporting Female Actress for Drama Series 2013 and 2014. She performed the roles of Jean Ward and Martha Bullock, respectively, in The Practice. Anna Gunn began acting as a child as a child in Sante Fe New Mexico. Her family then moved to Ohio, where she continued her passion for the theatre. Anna attended the British American Drama Academy and took classes in theatre at Northwestern University. Anna began her professional career working in the Chicago area theatres for a couple of years. Then she moved to film and television. In 1992 Anna landed her first big part as Arden in the 29th episode of Down the Shore. The actress continued to make appearances as an actor in few TV shows and films including Seinfeld as well as NYPD Blue through the mid 90's when she was cast in a regular role as Jean Ward in The Practice. Martha Bullock, a character she played for two years during Deadwood's 2nd season. Skyler was in Breaking Bad (2008). Sully in addition to Deadwood was another movie she appeared in. Gunn has also appeared on the stage to play in the David Schwimmer-directed production of Sex With Strangers. She was also a part of the podcast audio drama of four episodes called Numbered Days, which was released in 2022. Breaking Bad is often centered on the relationships that Walter White with his wife Skyler. Their strained bond and eventual end resembles the final years in Walter White's story.
